ÜBEN
An exhibition.
It understands practice as a bodily and social phenomenon that includes trying things out, learning, and failing. It creates space for ambiguity, contradictions, and surprises, as well as for the familiar, the tried-and-tested, and the long-rehearsed—just as much as for what is stuck, or irritated by too much practice.

By reflecting on one’s own perspective and encountering other points of view, ÜbenÜbenÜben fosters a loving, open, and humorous relationship to one’s own stance—and ideally also challenges it. The performers were invited by Yanik Soland, indirectly by Pro Helvetia, Riccardo Lisi, Maya Hottarek, Joel Valabrega, Jacob Ott, Johannes Willi, and Lilli Schaugg.

The festival was initiated by Jacob Ott and Johannes Willi—at the beginning, Eva Heller helped; now Lilli Schaugg is helping.
